Pea Soup..

“Whatever it is that pulls the pin, that hurls you past the boundaries of your own life into a brief and total beauty, it is enough. Completely.”......( Jeanette Winterson).
photos are from (almost) the most southern part of Victoria, Australia...Warrnambool, Port Fairy region. So beautiful.
This scenery pic is an old dormant (I hope!) volcano area...Tower Hill, near Warrnambool, normally it's filled with little lakes, not a drop of water to be seen....very dry for this area too.
The whole 100% state of Victoria has been declared a drought zone, 90-something percent for South Australia....and different degrees for other states, yet some parts of Queensland have not long had floods!
"A land of drought and flooding rains"....

"Let the beauty we love be what we do."....Rumi.

"Oh, my ways are strange ways and new ways and old ways, And deep ways and steep ways and high ways and low, I'm at home and at ease on a track that I know not, And restless and lost on a road that I know"......( Henry Lawson).

"Even if you slipped beneath the waves, the adhan may still reach you.".... (Abdal Hakim Murad)

Port Fairy Wharf, where they make the best fish and chips and catch crayfish out on their fishing boats.

"Only from the heart can you touch the sky."....Rumi.

Pea Soup is the name given to the South Beach at Port Fairy, there is another beach which is mainly for surfing, but at the south (Pea Soup) you can snorkell around the rocks and chase crabs, fish and little stingrays.

"I am one of the people who love the why of things.." (Catherine the Great).
This guy was just at the traffic lights, I was talking to him, he wants a bigger car :)

Amor est vitae essentia...Love is the essence of life...Robert B MacKay.

"Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non essentials. Lin Yu Tang.

There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the interspace of the universe.
A thought, in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created. I think this is Wallace D Wattles.

Purpose Ease and Flow...."When you are on a purpose -life will be easy and the opportunities and resources you need to be fulfilled will present themselves, then it is just up to you to act."

I thought this was from William James, it isn't, and I haven't found where I've scribbled this down from. I think it might be W D Wattles too, come to think of it.
So much happening.

I'm hoping the 'so much happening' is good stuff. As usual your photos are fantastic.
Love the quote by Henry Lawson as well as Rumi's "only from the heart can you touch the sky"
The shearwater is one amazing bird!
Surely that is one of the longest migratory paths.
Good to see you again my friend!

The title, the first photo I was so glad they are not connected. Why Pea Soup for the shearwater colony? Amazing birds.

Good to see you back Pam. We miss you.
It seems you've been to the seaside, where there's water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink!

A real Koala in the wilds. I had one on my blog recently, but he was in San Diego zoo.

Take care Pam.

Pammykins, fierce spirit wind,

Beauty + wisdom = heart
Thank you for the brief interlude. Again.

Exposed on the cliffs of the heart. Look, how tiny down
there,
look: the last village of words and, higher,
(but how tiny) still one last
farmhouse of feeling. Can you see it?
Exposed on the cliffs of the heart. Stoneground
under your hands. Even here, though,
something can bloom; on a silent cliff-edge
an unknowing plant blooms, singing, into the air.
But the one who knows? Ah, he began to know
and is quiet now, exposed on the cliffs of the heart.
While, with their full awareness,
many sure-footed mountain animals pass
or linger. And the great sheltered birds flies, slowly
circling, around the peak's pure denial.- But
without a shelter, here on the cliffs of the heart...

---Rainer Maria Rilke

Ya know?
And I wait to hear of your latest travels, be they of the internal or external variety of Pammykin experience. (heh)

Health to you and yours Pam, wherever you roam.

I like the water and the mountain but was particularly take away down that two rut lane. It is good to have seen so many side roads like that and gone down a few.

Peace

Hi Pam,
I wanted to let you know that I nicked a couple of photos from your blog for a post but I gave you a link and told everyone to visit to see more.

I also copied the drought quote. It is so awful, I hope you are managing all right. It must be heartbreaking.
