I Can Hear Music......

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,

There is a rapture on the lonely shore,

There is society, where none intrudes,

By the deep sea, and music in its roar:

I love not man the less, but Nature more.

~George Gordon, Lord Byron, Childe Harold's Pilgrimage.

(Climbing the sandhills of Moreton Island off the coast near Scarborough, Brisbane, QLD).

Welcome home, lady! I'm so glad you're back, Pam, and can't wait to see the many magnificent pictures you must have taken.

I agree with Lord Byron about loving Nature more. (Although I have never swum the Hellespont or even the English Channel.)

Hello again! Why is your sea such a beautiful blue and ours is so often a beautiful grey? Look forward to many more photos.

What a g'dorgeous view!

Please forward me a map with directions to get to the society where none intrude...
sounds like a gated community.

Hope that you had a wonderful holly...
I missed your sunshiny disposition.

HOw I miss the ocean like that. While I live by the water, it is not quite the same.

Pam, what a beautiful photo! Welcome back... maybe...

To lose one's self on the shore to the roar and roll of the surf, the vast expanse of endless water, surging and retreating, almost hypnotic in the awesome power it contains and unleashes.... that is wonderful!

Hi, Pam! Lovely poem. Remember it well. Glad you had a good time and waiting for pictures!

Also, just scrolled down and saw your earlier pictures. I really loved the rainbow.

Yes, yes, welcome back. Life feels better with you at the table.

Wanted to attach some little pleasure but out of the tens of books by the bed, only two are poetry and they're by Charles Bukowski and Stephen Dunn so we're not talking sweet appreciation of the natural world as much as the desire to free the apparently landlocked soul. (laugh)

Beauty is. Like you. (smile)
